Surveillance video
of a Bus/Train collision was utilized in the animation
above. The bus was transporting workers on a road crossed
by multiple railroad tracks. The crossing was controlled
by passive traffic control only (signs). Th bus driver
failed to come to a complete stop and was hit by a train
running at about 13 mph. The crossing is long, but driver's
do have a good view of approaching traffic. Had the speed
of railroad traffic been higher the crossing would be
even more hazardous.
