Riding
in Pickup Beds and Trailers
While
it is legal in Texas for passengers over the age of 18 to
ride in the back of pickups, it is it is much more dangerous
than being belted in a vehicle. There are exceptions to
the law. These include:
- operating or
towing the vehicle in a parade.
- an emergency.
- transportation
of farm workers.
- driving on a
beach.
- a pickup is
the only vehicle owned by the family.
- it is being
used in a hay ride.
