Traction Control
Systems
Many newer vehicles
are equipped with atraction control system (TCS), also known
as Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR). Typically
this is an electro-hydraulic system. The system applies
and releases the hydraulic brakes at each driven wheel to
prevent loss of traction. When the throttle is applied and
one of the wheel looses traction, the brake on that wheel
is activated. This stops the wheel spin and transfers more
torque to the wheel or wheels that have better traction.
These systems help you maintain the control of the vehicle
when accelerating hard or on slippery surfaces.
