Complex
Reaction Ability
A
driver may encounter unexpected hazards that require more
than simple practiced tactics to deal with. Situations like
these require complex reaction abilities. Your ability to
react to changing driving situations is critical to being
a safe driver. Having complex reaction abilities means that
you can respond to many changes at once. Say, for example,
you are approaching a busy intersection with the light turning
yellow, the road is icy and a car is approaching quickly
from behind. You could change lanes, turn onto the shoulder
or brake hard risking sliding thought the intersection or
being hit from behind. If you have good complex reaction
abilities, you will have a better chance of avoiding an
accident when multiple hazards occur at once.
