Pedestrians
(continued)
At night a highway construction worker
was wearing an orange safety vest and assisting with the
pullout of a company truck. He was directing the pullout
of truck while standing in the northbound lane.
A pickup was southbound
traveling at approximately 50 to 55 miles per hour. The
left-front corner of the pickup impacted the worker while
he was standing in the northbound lane.
Pedestrians are especially difficult
to see at night. Slow down when passing vehicles that are
broken down or may otherwise have pedestrians working on
or near them.
